Estamos sin duda ante uno de los máximos exponentes del género de comedia absurda. Desternillante y sin pretensiones, narra las aventuras y desventuras de unos aspirantes a policía.
Es una comedia altamente recomendable, de humor limpio y sencillo, con algunos gags memorables, como la conferencia del teniente de policía con Mahoney bajo el estrado o la 'onomatopéllica' actuación de Bubba Smith.
Es, junto con Aterriza como puedas, la comedia más divertida y entretenida del cine de los 80 - 90.
