Sinopsis:
Para la dj del momento en Austin, Jungle Julia (Sydney Tamiia Poitier), la noche supone la oportunidad de salir de marcha con dos de sus mejores amigas, Shanna y Arlene (Jordan Ladd y Vanessa Ferlito). Esta tropa de mujeres de excepción irrumpen en la noche, haciendo que las miradas se vuelvan desde Guero’s a Texas Chili Parlor. Comentarios:
Death Proof empieza muy bien, un primer plano del "culo de negra" de Jungle Julia (Sydney Tamiia Poitier) y un look setentero (color by deluxe).
Sin embargo, luego ya no continúa tan bien. Se echan en falta los brillantes diálogos de otras cintas 'made in Tarantino'. Y no es que no halla diálogo, que lo hay y mucho, pero no pasan de ser anodinas conversaciones de jovencitas malhabladas.
Nos cuenta la historia de 'Especialista Mike' una suerte de asesino cuya arma es su propio coche y que se dedica a cazar chicas por la carretera y que es tratado con su misma medicina al intentar matar a unas especilistas de cine como él.
Como no podía ser de otra manera es machacado a golpes con extrema crueldad hasta morir, resultando incluso simpático el golpe de gracia que le da Rosario Dawson pateándole el cuello.
Entretenimiento para los fans de Tarantino y poco más: ese "más" puede ser el baile sexi de la ex-CSI NY Vanessa Ferlito, y el ocurrente diálogo del sherif con su hijo al final de la primera historia.
