Sinopsis:
Ashley Albright es la mujer con más suerte en el mundo, una persona a la que todas las cosas buenas de la vida le han llegado con demasiada facilidad. Puede escoger un billete de lotería al azar y acertar el gordo. En Nueva York, la ciudad más ajetreada del mundo, Ashley no tiene que esperar nunca para encontrar un taxi libre. Y tiene un fantástico trabajo como ejecutiva de cuentas en una prestigiosa empresa de relaciones públicas. Todo le sale a pedir de boca. Y ahora, tiene delante una gran oportunidad para avanzar en su carrera: ha de organizar un baile de máscaras en el centro de Manhattan para el magnate de la industria discográfica Damon Phillips (Faizon Love) y su empresa. Jake, por su parte, atrae la mala suerte. Siempre le vienen mal dadas, sus pantalones siempre están a punto de romperse por las costuras. Su trabajo es limpiar los aseos en una bolera. Pero incluso una constante serie de desdichas no apaga los sueños de Jake. Cree que quizás tenga la oportunidad de su vida con el descubrimiento de los McFly, una banda de rock. Si Jake puede alejar su mala suerte al menos durante una noche, se meterá en el baile de máscaras y pondrá el CD de los McFly en las manos del titán de la música Damon Phillips. Jake, en su intento de pillar a Phillips antes de que se marche, termine salvándole la vida al magnate de la industria discográfica y logrando, por un simple guiño del destino, la oportunidad de que todos sus sueños se hagan realidad. Cuando Ashley corre desesperadamente para recuperar la suerte que alegremente daba por hecho, empieza a ver que no es tan importante la buena suerte como lo que haces con ella, y que su gran oportunidad de redención descansa en el tipo que tiene la clave de su repentino cambio de suerte.
