Se erige como uno de los momentos épicos de la historia judicial del país: 20 acusados, 20 abogados de la defensa (uno para cada acusado), ocho suplentes del jurado (anticipándose a la duración del proceso y por miedo a los sobornos), y recapitulaciones inusualmente extensas (una de las declaraciones de cierre de uno de los abogados de la defensa se prolongó durante cinco días).
