Sinopsis:
Camarón, es la biografía nunca contada antes del genio de la música flamenca: José Monge Cruz Camarón de la Isla. La película sobre Camarón elige al personaje como protagonista absoluto. Un recorrido por su vida y obra, un acercamiento a este genial cantaor que innovó en el flamenco, influyó en las nuevas generaciones y rompió barreras sociales y artísticas. Sus deseos, sus éxitos, sus luchas son ingredientes de una trayectoria personal que se ven reflejados en su visión particular de hacer música, una forma nueva de hacer y escuchar flamenco y que Camarón enseñó al mundo. Camarón esta dividida en tres etapas: el descubrimiento, la confirmación y reconocimiento-despedida. En cada una de ellas Camaron de la Isla está arropado por personajes de la cultura flamenca como Paco de Lucía, Tomatito, Paco Cepero, etc. y el precioso legado de sus canciones irán jalonando la historia como elemento imprescindible. Su etapa más prolífica, presenta luces y sombras reflejadas en sus enredos amorosos, su reconocimiento nacional e internacional, la grabación de discos que revolucionan la interpretación del flamenco, su boda con Dolores La Chispa, el coqueteo con las drogas y su deterioro físico a muy pronta edad.
